Skydance Paramount Will Cut Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Update
Skydance Paramount will start mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs within a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.
The workforce reduction follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August with a value of $8.4bn.
More global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to announce full details during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.
Prior news suggested the company was looking to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 positions before the start of November.
Until December 2024, Paramount employed about 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
