BF6 Players Are Convinced: Missions Are Excessively Difficult

The debut of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are voicing discontent with some of the game's hardest challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.

Gamers have begun turning to personalized games created through the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how demanding these assignments have become.

Comprehending Battlefield 6 Assignments

Assignments are Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four classes of assignments, but where most simply offer outfits and select equipment, completing the weapon assignments is the exclusive means of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one main guns present in the game.

A number of these locked weapons could shortly find their way on rankings for the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry across Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are justifiably voicing their concerns about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at very short distances, which is seldom the location you aim to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Overly Demanding Mission

One more community participant highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, now in the marksman rifle class to obtain the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with marksman guns

This is challenging enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and possibly an additional option if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.

The Workaround

There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. The Battlefield Portal is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can cheese the system… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.

Yet, if doing the challenges in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a custom game so teammates aren't hindered?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply will never acquire the locked firearms.

Currently, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these demanding in-game tasks, hoping for a fairer gaming experience in subsequent patches.
