Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Popular California Shoreline
A helicopter flying over a well-attended southern California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Videos posted online show the chopper commencing to spiral above the beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck between palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters said five individuals were taken to hospital comprising a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the incident on Saturday.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
